ANZALS in Conversation #5

Who Are You as a Researcher? Do You Know, and Does It Matter?

The Australian and New Zealand Association for Leisure Studies (ANZALS) is delighted to present the fifth instalment of our ANZALS in Conversation series—a special two-hour online masterclass designed to conclude our 2026 events program.

Whether you are an early career researcher, an experienced academic, or somewhere in between, developing a clear research identity is one of the most valuable investments you can make in your academic career.

Have you ever found yourself thinking:

  • “Why did I agree to this project? I enjoy working with the person who asked me, but it’s well outside my area of expertise.”
  • “How can I connect my different research projects into a coherent story for promotion, funding, or collaboration?”
  • “What actually defines me as a researcher?”

If these questions resonate with you, this masterclass has been designed with you in mind.

Tickets are $25 for non-members. Already an ANZALS member? Log in first to register for free.
