The Australian and New Zealand Association for Leisure Studies (ANZALS) is holding a FREE panel discussion next Friday 1-2pm AEDT/3-4pm NZ time and we’d love you to join us!

If you’ve always wondered what/who ANZALS is, this is a great opportunity to learn a little more. Our panel will be discussing how the Australian and New Zealand leisure studies community, and the COVID-hit leisure sector, can successfully leverage the legacies of the 17th World Leisure Congress being held in Ōtepoti/Dunedin, Aotearoa New Zealand in December 2022. This is the first time the Congress has been held in Australasia since 2004! Speakers include Dr Cristina Ortega (World Leisure Organisation), Dr Willem Coetzee (University of Otago), Dr Arianne Reis (University of Western Sydney) and Dr Alana Thomson (Federation University Australia).

Following the panel discussion (from approximately 2-3pm AEDT/4-5pm NZ time), we welcome you to join in some FREE family-friendly fun to finish the year in typically friendly ANZALS style. This is always the highlight of our biennial conference, and this year we’re moving it online so you don’t miss out. It may be called the Trans-Tasman Challenge, but we do have an International team for those not from Australia or New Zealand! In keeping with tradition, we are unable to reveal more information about the challenge until the event itself, but it will be an online game that requires your cameras to be turned on so we can see how much fun you’re having!

Please register for the Trans-Tasman Challenge event at: https://www.trybooking.co.nz/JBT

We look forward to giving you a taste of ANZALS manaakitanga/hospitality!
